We look back at an amazing but emotional 14th edition of the Holland Betta Show! It was great to finally host a completely full show again! In total 356 self-bred fish were entered by 36 hobbyists from 9 European countries (Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Romania, Spain).

The Holland Betta Show 2023 truly was a great event with the Betta Community coming together and meeting old friends and making many new. However, this was an emotional show as we missed a very important person who has been part of the core team since we started in 2009. On the 9th of June 2023, Gerrit Wisseborn passed away. Gerrit was of great importance of our team as he was THE technical man at our events but even more importantly he was loved for his warm personality, humor and willingness to help anyone he could. Despite not breeding Bettas himself, he knew more about this beautiful hobby than the average starting hobbyist. Our thoughts and support go out to Jolanda and her family. Jolanda Wisseborn we are incredibly proud that you took the brave decision to join us at the show and we realize this must have been very difficult for you. I hope that you have felt that our community is there to support you and that you are not alone. We will never, ever forget Gerrit ❤.
